Just wondering if it's the same photo radar there as it is here, when there forward facing its like 800m but when they are facing away it's a different story sometime I get them before, sometimes right next to them but I heard sometimes they don't turn on till a vehicle approaches, would love to test the ka as well I'm getting some awesome detections on 34.7

If the magnum/CI are picking it up, it's not MRCD for sure.

They should be in the same spot tonight so will try to get a video the frequency is 24.080, I had a max and got rid of it the next day, cost 167$ max 0 photo 167 not even a beep nothing only a flash, update the driver and least I get some warning, haven't tried the 9500ci yet, but I will run both tonight

Probably a standard K band photo truck, they used to be all over here. We had zero detection on a single North American M3 against the MRCD, not one.

A real "scientific" approach would be to take all the runs and average them together and than compare the means and standard deviations. With like a student T test or ANOVA. Then we could tell if there is a difference. I have minitab and could run this.

lol Timmy :p

Exactly. I think a lot of it had to do with variability through traffic. Maybe sometimes a detector was able to grab a distant fringe detection. Sometimes it wouldn't and it would pick it up closer to where the other detectors did.

We did several runs with some of the detectors and posted the best result when applicable. We can post the additional runs as well for completeness, but what you're seeing is the maximum detection achieved. That's not the same as the maximum capability of the detector, but the longest detection achieved in the test. They're not the same thing, but there should be some correlation. :)

Haha good point.
If he has one I'll need his full address and the time he leaves for work via PM.

Believe it or not, the 9500iX INTL is also set up to get Pulsed K band units. So too are the following

Magnum INTL
Redline INTL or Pro A
8500 INTL
8500ci INTL
9500 ci INTL
Max INTL
Bel Stir-M INTL

Max360 INTL (Only kidding, no such beast so far :) )

Interesting, I have a question about that but I don't want to get OT on the MRCD in this post, I'm gonna tag it in the other thread.

We'd debated this but decided against it because it wouldn't present an accurate picture of what we saw.

Sometimes a detector would give us a single long range blip. On the next pass we'd get a shorter detection.

If you look at the map, you see that bend/dip? Usually we'd get one detection there at best. Sometimes (I believe it was with the Stinger), we got repeated detections there which we weren't expecting and we weren't able to mark each of those locations on the map using the mapping app we were running.

Sometimes they would alert after that curve (typically the case) and so we marked where it initially went off.

We could include all of that information with every time each detector went off, with every run, but that'd be too cluttered. Averaging things out would certainly simplify things, but I think it would get rid of too much important data. That said, showing only the longest run gets rid of some data too. That's the difficulty with finding a way to present the data in a way that's both accurate and easy to read and understand.

Check out the Edmonton MRCD thread for this info, this one we will keep on topic for the long range standard radar test results.

PC, how effectively would an international redline work in the US?

Wanted to get one video up before work, fell asleep while it was uploading!

STIR O vs 33.8, long range detection. 2/5/8, Highway, RDR OFF. I'll upload the same HD+ run tonight. Enjoy!
