Question: New Zealand and Escort Max360 US version

    Planing trip to New Zealand. Will US model Escort Max360 be useful there or is everything completely different there?

    They use cams that operate below our K-band... I don't think the US max will pick it up... This is just a guess though... with no research involved...

    Picking up redflex on any detector these days is a waste of time. International model or not. You eventually learn where all the camera vans sit and hide.

    Your Max will pick up Ka signals fine.

    Stinger VIP is the only reliable option to pick up Redflex

    I'd love a stinger, but you spend all that money and 3 years later its outdated... ?

    ka is the real threat in NZ, so R1 OR R3 ....

    Look for plain coloured vans parked on the side of the road, Hyundais, VW's, normally white or grey, etc. Most commercial vans are signwritten, these aren't. They have dark tinted rear and side windows.
    Pole mounts are obvious too, usually in urban areas or on the outskirts of towns.
    They're either a cream coloured single box with a window, or an array of two radar units and camera.
