I thought I'd like to share my setup. It is nothing special but has so far been good to me *knock on wood*.

On the other side of the rearview mirror, I have a Blackvue DR650GW-2Ch dashcam mounted just below the tint. The rear camera is mounted center and high in the rear window with the lens angled downward slightly.

To the left of the steering wheel near the A pillar, I have my cellphone mounted there which originally was used to run Waze (I have the tablet take over this duty now to save battery life on my phone) and Torque Pro app for when I want to read/view my engine status.

Near the center of the windshield (has since been moved to the A pillar), is my Samsung Tab 3 7" tablet I bought from FreedomPop. I use this to run Waze as FreedomPop provides me with 1GB of free LTE data each month. FreedomPop runs off the Sprint network and service is excellent here.

You have your version of a jet cockpit there.

How is torque getting its data? Via WIFI or Bluetooth OBD connection?

I use a Bluetooth odb connection because I have an Android phone. If you have an iphone, you'll need a WiFi odb adapter.

I believe it does as my redline goes off every 30 seconds with the 9500ix on. With just the redline, the k band only goes off near newer cars and Auto open doors.

Nice setup, but I'm trying to squeeze everything in one device... :D

+Now I have ALP BT, I didn't have it when I made this video... I have torque too, but not using it so often, so I didn't add it to auto start...

Before my tablet, I ran everything on my note 4, I didn't like how it ate thru my battery and made my phone so hot. With the tablet now, I just run torque when I need the engine info or other apps. I barely put my phone there now. I might pick up escort live and run it with my phone. I like how you have the tablet integrated into your dash. I think it would be harder for me to do on the bmw since almost everything thru the head unit

I have both, Liama is working in background on this video...
And phone is there only for people to see how it works... I don't even take it out from pocket when I go to work, or from work home...

My Liama setup is done that way to start apps with delay one minute after phone connect to car stereo by Bluetooth.
and each app is delayed 15 after other one, just to give them time to run...

This is not tablet. It is Pioneer appradio. Everything is running on my phone. OnePlus Two I install special kernel that is very friendly to my battery. So when I do cast screen and plug it on car charger it doesn't use too much power.
When phone connect to pioneer, screen dim to lowest, gps is going trough Pioneer not phone, so that prevent from overheating and battery drain as well...

On drives 30min to hour I don't really take my phone from pocket... I just start car and everything connect for me... I just drive... And battery is still good for couple hours after that...

EDIT: And also I keep all commands on sterling wheel ... Everything stock but not... :D:D

Re: Redline, Tablet, Cellphone, Dashcam Windshield Mounts

I want to thank @Andrew21 for taking the time out of his busy day to help me install ALPs on my car. He did a great job and the car wasn't the best to work on either. It was hard to find a good location where it conceals the heads. They turned out good and get good performance. I neglected to order extension cables for the rear heads so I'll have those installed later on. Can't wait to get tagged now.

Thanks for being so patient. The BMW was made so everything is a PITA. Though with your help, everything went a tad faster.

Testing was JTG as well :)

Awesome install! I love the interior pics that shows a nice clean install. The interior IMO is more challenging than heads placement for those that want a nice clean install without wires showing. Another nice install indeed.

Andrew said you would love the interior. The control pad is easy to reach and wires are hidden. We stuck the speaker underneath the driver's seat and the usb cable is there as well.

I just wish the car was better in the front for the placement of the heads. It def jtg performance though. Thats what counts.

I love that the wires are hidden. Gives it a nice clean install. It's a shame to put so much effort into an install, only to leave wires hanging around instead of removing panels and hiding the wires under them.
