It's rather easy to tell the difference from a BSM false and a real K band signal by the frequency. Automute and quietride help make things manageable. Knowing if it's a real threat or a BSM is very easy to filter out with your eyes. TMF2 works well, but at a huge expense of range.. right?
TMF2 does reduce range, but when you compare a V1 w/TMF2 enabled to a Max, the V1 still beats the Max on range and quietness:

Everyone says it's BSM that's causing the falsing. My previous 9500ix never flawed around cars with BSM. I Know because I would see the light in the side view mirrors of these cars illuminate when I was near them so I knew they had BSM, but th detector remained silent.

I first began noticing the falsing when GM introduced the cross traffic detection in the new Cadillacs which then found its way to the rest of the GM line-up. My Max behaves the same way, consistent with the rest of you.

It is longer range blind spot style radars (e.g. linearly modulated / frequency shift keying K band used to resolve multiple objects' speed and distance) that causes the K band falsing, and I completely agree that the Passport Max/Max2 is more susceptible to it than the 9500ix, which is part of the reason why some of us are miffed about it. The detector whose primary advertising point is a DSP provides "unparalleled accuracy" and quiet actually has more false alarm issues than the analog detector that's less precise.
