Wanted to let you know that if you are in the metro Atlanta area, we are now the exclusive dealer for Stinger VIP. The rep came by with their demo car that has a VIP-FL system that they installed on it and I got a tour and demo of the system. It has the front and rear radar with front laser jamming only. If you are interested in getting a system or want more info, feel free to contact me.

What I'd really like to know is 1. What sales pitch did the rep use ?? (Its the greatest ever yada yada) and 2. HOW does it perform on BOTH lidar and radar??? Is that his car or ONE of your installs?? I see the patch in the back near the headrest, where the front one mounted??

I'm guessing 2 receivers, 2 transmitters & 2 enradd sensors... That there is the $7k package.

There is a radar patch antenna behind the silver star and 4 sensors. Two are for detection and two are for transmitting.

So I take it NO rear lidar protection, BUT front and rear Radar patches.

The sales pitch was mainly on the the radar sensitivity, display, false alarm reductions, and the "stealth" of the install on the sensors. They do claim to be able to jam everything that LI and ALP can jam, pending a November update for some new DALA guns.

That was the reps car and it was installed by the rep. Front patch antenna was mounted behind the front plastic Mercedes emblem.

We have a repeat client that called and asked about and we wanted to be the only place in town that has it.

The Three Pointed Star as it is called is a metallized "plastic" and probably wont cause much interference, although I can think of better places to put the front patch on that car. I prefer NOTHING in front of the patch, BUT for accident and security purposes, I am sure that its better to have some frontal protection.

the base material of the emblem is plastic but that is then chrome plated just like any metal part. there is copper, nickel and chrome on top of the plastic. not going to be as good as it could be located there.

Correct. This install they didn't have any rear laser. It just had the two radar sensors, and 2 laser sensors, and 2 transmitters. It didn't have any of the enradd pieces.

The Mercedes emblem popped off and that's where the patch antenna was mounted into. We didn't really get into specifics about where it should and shouldn't be mounted. It was mainly a visit to show us the system.

I agree that's it's very expensive and won't be for what we sale the most. We still heavily push the STI-R and ALP since it's been well tested and we know it works.

When I had a Christmas Tree fall off a truck in front of me, the three pointed star blew apart and it was a thick plastic with a chrome metallized finish.

trust me when I say its chrome plated. they do not metalize trim, only headlight and marker light reflectors are metalized because they are protected by the lens. metalizing will not handle the gravelometer testing nor will it pass the scratch testing.

I am NOT a plastics guy, so I'll take your word for it. Chrome or whatever it is?? Point is, I would NOT put any antenna behind any plastic and/or metal structure because of possible losses.

Are the top 2 in the grill the "transmitting" Sensors or the lower pair ?
I'm going to make a random uneducated guess and say the ones with bubbles are the receivers.
