We had a small meetup today for those who can't make next week's meetup for one reason or another. There were four of us who came, me, @drewdownkali, @knight51, and S10BLU.

drewdownkali and I were the only ones with vehicles to test. He ran a set of HP-905 duals up front and I'm running a set of ALP quads front/rear. I brought my PL3 and he brought his PL2 and 20/20. Both vehicles tested outstanding against all 3 guns on our ~1300ft straight hill-free course.

Something that was really interesting, in our previous testing meetup was that heads that were toed out to the side by even very small amounts led to PT's, but in this case that didn't happen. Both my front passenger side head and drewdownkali's are slightly toed out, his moreso than mine. I talked about my head in my install thread and how it's not very adjustable because of my install so it was something I was concerned about. Now what was surprising was that both of us had heads that were toed out, but neither of us got any PT's because of it!

The shooter was up on a hill on one side of the road while the vehicle, when coming toward the shooter, was on the opposite side of the road. So if anything, it should actually exacerbate the issue because the head is actually pointing away from the shooter. Impressive performance by both systems, especially considering the compromises in the setups. The PT's I was able to get on drewdownkali's car are basically irrelevant. At those ranges I was shooting at extreme angles as he was passing the shooting site and so he was effectively JTFG as well. He was able to get one PT at point blank against me so I was just one run away from a flawless victory. :p

Here's a look at drewdownkali's vehicle:

and here's a look at his PHL head. The driver's side one was right on and parallel with the level, but this one was a off a decent amount and yet it tested out beautifully.

Here's a look at my front:

and here's my Miata's rear:

We also had a V1, Redline, and pre-production Max2 on site to compare the laser receptivity. The Redline and V1 both performed excellently, front and rear. The Max2 wasn't nearly as good which we could already gather given what we know about the Max, but it looks like there may be some issues with this particular unit which may not necessarily be representative of the Max's true capabilities so I'm going to see if I can get a different unit in prior to next weekend's testing before I release my comments on the Max in this laser test.

Here's the V1/Max2 setup I was running for the test.

I also brought a K40 G5 to the test meetup to run against these guns. Unfortunately it turns out that the screw holes on either side of the jammer head aren't far enough apart to fit the license plate screws, and they're too small for the screws to go into. Unfortunately I didn't bring any double-stick tape to stick the head directly to my front plate, so those results will have to wait until next weekend as well.

A big thank you to everyone who came out to test, help out, and join in on the camaraderie! :hfive:

To be continued... :)

Thanks for the test results, both the blinder and the ALP do great against those guns and it shows in your testing.

Laser detection was decent on the front, poor but not totally blind in the rear even with the top down. It couldn't keep up with any other unit in terms of detection. It always alerted noticeably later than every other unit and has a ridiculously long laser latch.

I'll 2nd that. decent amount of time after both the blinder and redline alerted before the max would. Also when not being shot and turning around for the next run the Max would mysteriously alert. This happened in my vehicle at least 2 or 3 times in the same situation (turning around in lot we were shooting from)

You should just consider it a flawless Vortex. By the time I got anything you were directly 90 degrees and I may have been pointed at your door. Beastly!!

Yeah, happened to me too with the Max2 randomly falsing to lidar several times when I pulled back into the parking lot. All other detectors and jammers were quiet.

There's been a few other issues with it too so I don't wanna peg the Max2 for it yet, especially until we get a production copy of the unit, or at least another pre-production version before Saturday. (It officially gets released the following Monday.)
