I had two encounters with K-Band on the highway today. One with a semi-stationary and one with a mobile control.
I have a Genevo One M. For K-Band I usually have the Filter on "minimum". With k-Band Filter the false alarms are tolerable. Without Filter the Genevo "beeps" the whole time, even on the highway around Zurich. Unfortunately with K-Band Filter the distance from the Alarm to the measuring station was too short; maybe 20 meters. Without Filter, as mentioned, the warning distance was good, but the false alarms are too much.
Are there other users in Switzerland? What are the experiences. Is the new Escort redline EX international better?

    What semi-stationary Radar was it?
Jenoptik Traffistar SR590 semistation -> www.jenoptik.ch: Produkte und Lösungen
It uses the MRCT-Antenna, you need to turn on MRCT (Multaradar CT) on the Genevo One M.

    Bredar RS-GS11 Semista -> www.bredar.ch: SEMISTA
There should be a Gatso RS-GS11 Radar (Gatso Type 24 Radar antenna) inside, recently i found technical data, they should work on 24,125 GHz, no Frequency Modulation.

Since we don´t have these types of Radar in Germany, i don´t have experience with them.

    Hello,

    I also come from Switzerland.

I bought several systems to test them (Genevo one M, Genevo assist pro HD+ one button with AL priority, only detection no jamming). Where I live, almost all mobile measurements are made by laser, not by laser gun but by a LIDAR measuring cell (LMS-XX). I went ahead with the Genevo one M which is supposed to warn by laser but unfortunately, it did not function. With AL priority, I am warned about 20m before. I am very disappointed with these results and would therefore like to choose a new system. I saw in this post here (# 14 of easyrider) that with Valentine one he captured 150-200m in town and 600m highway a LIDAR cell.

So my question is as follows: What do you think is the best laser warning?

If a person could advise me, I would be very happy.

    Greetings from Switzerland

ALP should give you sufficient warning against Traffic Observer, when approaching from the front.

Have you "Traffic Observer Scanner" enabled in your settings?
Have your sensors a free view to the road or are they obstructed by some honeycomb grill maybe?

Genevo One M has no superb laser detection compared to other RDs like Valentine One. Furthermore Traffic Observer is a lidar scanner with a very low frequency, which most detectors filter out.

    Hello LL04
I drive in Zurich area. ALP does a good job. Reliable without falses. Genevo doesn't detect laser well, although they made some progress. Sometimes my Genevo One M shows even a Traffic Observer.
Did you already met a K-Band Traffic control with your Genevo Assist?
I think Genevo is the best choice for driving in Switzerland. You will get crazy with the falses of Valentine - I had one before Genevo.
I am wondering who did the install for you. But please don't post it here. Maybe a PM.

    Hello,

Thank you for your answers and advice ! :)

Actually the sensor is invisible and mounted behind a grill on the right of the car, I have left visible only the 4 IR LEDs, not the IR jammer LED. I will buy another sensor for the other side because the reception is good if the Traffic observer is on right side of the road but not on the left side. My problem was solved by moving the sensor on the same height as the laser at the front of the car, I have tested behind the windshield :sweatdrop:

But I have some other problems... I tested the ALP in combination whit the Genevo unit (as master), I feel it is less responsive and even worse : once the system has picked up a laser, it lights up and detects nothing, I have to restart it. I met a lot of worries with the Genevo (POI announced once passed the control, the software does not record the parameters, serial number is not recognized ...) I will contact the support, I think I have a problem whit my SD config file.
I did the installation myself, the aim was a hidden installation (although for this I will need two sensors and not one).
For the moment I have not configured the Radar antenna. I already want to solve this laser problem, but I think I use the ALP module instead of Genevo ... I will do tests tomorrow

Genevo HD+ Antenna is placed directly behind the bumper vertically as recommended in the manual. As I disabled SOS function in my car, I was able to use it for a discreet installation of Genevo. For power on the Genevo, I built a CAN-BUS interface which allows me to activate it by pressing two steering wheel buttons at the same time for some seconds. If someone needs ID or Data to control the K-CAN (BMW) for your project, ask me :)

    Thats a HONEYCOMB GRILL !!
It will divide your detections !
It will perform less than optimally.
Can you get that placed behind a flat piece of plastic to stealth it ??
Same on the ALPs if mounted behind Honeycomb Grill.
    I'd move it if possible.

    Benzr

    Thank you for your reply.
Yes I know it deviates a bit but I have no choice for a discreet installation. My aim is not to jam but simply to detect this type of installation. Did the ALP detect LMS-06 ? I only see 04 and 05.
    Many thanks :)
