YaV1 manual "updated with each release" and may be revised in between version releases.

Thanks for all you have posted video's and how to's on the forum... please send me a PM to add pertinent links for next release.

I will use this thread to add new versions as YaV1 progresses in the future.

    Thanks.....

Compatibility….YaV1 versions up to 1.1.6 will support android versions 2.3.7 up to < 3.2.
YaV1 2.0 and above will need android 3.2 and above.
I will leave the 1.1.6 apk attachment for those needed backwards compatibility. The Google version will always be the latest public release but two versions are not allowed on Google at the same time so 1.1.6 will be stored here.
*Note, when downloading the apk or manual on a computer, you may have best results to rightclick and hit "save link as".. otherwise it may download and attempt to install or open.

*Note the latest official public release is 2.03.. the apk "Yav1 app" the latest official manual is 2.02.
I don't have the changelist between the two handy.. franckly I can't remember its been so long and drawn out as to the details....
everything after that should be considered beta.

Below is the attachments in my signature are all the versions of late.. including some custom sound files.

2.04b is the latest version I have.. considered beta but most likely the best of them all as more bugs are removed.... if there is a later one, I'm not aware of it.. unless Franky has a secret version for his unique driving conditions in Atlantis somewhere

Well you did a great job. It's a massive amount of information and explanation, and very well worded.

Great compliment from you as I've seen your videos and they are excellent... Thx

Any links I've missed from you or Vortex or others pls let me know if hey would be helpful and not redundant .

Direct video links are wonderful tools for how to , this has been a collaborative effort and I know I have left out a lot of useful information..

One nice change with v 1.1.1 is the bulk lockout ability by long touching in the open space.

    Re: YaV1 Manual and guide

Hey Thx, there's about 30 hrs of work in it "at least" I'm slow :)

Nothing compared to the time I've seen Franky put in though... Seems each update brings more hurdles... But quite an app, that's for sure!

He still wants to attempt the AI project!

What do you guys recommend as the best way to make this manual available to all?... I think I may have caused some offense posting the link to all the major YaV1 threads.

But here are the things we have to consider.
    1. People on mobile devices using Tapatalk may not see attachments, and stickies so a single thread is easily missed. "hence why stickies were invented" but they can access links within a thread.

    2. Need a central place to post each new update to "no more posts to all threads now that people know".

    3. Posting the manual to a thread can be resurrected with each update, but if much dialogue happens, the thread gets exhaustive.... Maybe still can just update post #1 with new pdf and download link to the updated version?..... This seems best to me unless someone can think of something better. This was my original plan.

    Thx for comments

    Re: YaV1 Manual and guide

Thanks! , a fair amount of rewording for clarity will be in the next release. It's amazing how no matter how many times I go through it, I keep finding improvements.
Trying to add key pertinent question and answers to the bottom now as they pop up on the forum.

I encourage anyone who downloaded the first version to also keep current as the manual will evolve as YaV1 evolves.

Hopefully this will be a good resource to prevent having to search all over the forum to figure out V1 + connection + YaV1! It's worth the reading!

YaV1 is so rich in features now, there's no easy way to spell it out without being a bit redundant..... Even then I see key points that can be easily missed in the abundance of details and explanations.

The manual hits the highlights, then at the end attempts to mop up and get into more serious details about key features.

The stock app is a good schoolmaster to get your feet wet but I'm reluctant to encourage anyone to learn the stock first because many folks don't like change and may be tempted to settle and not try YaV1 and miss out on the really good stuff!
The default YaV1 Settings allow folks to get started until they have time to explore more advanced settings.

    Re: YaV1 Manual and guide

Thank you and welcome!.. great to see Spain on the forum!
Let us know if we can help..... this next version is currently at 23 pages!.....

The desired intent is have a place that someone can go to without being scattered all over the forum reading outdated info thats out of context with the whole scheme.

At first glance I was hoping to make a simple guide of how to set up a device and get it up and running.. but then realized with the many features and users having all different levels of experience and expertise, it was required to make something that covers the whole gamut.

However the larger the manual gets the more counterproductive it becomes as info gets buried and redundancy is required.

I will be constantly attempting to weed out, make more concise, and keep the manual updated with current changes.... if anyone sees any gross mistakes or gaps in thought I have missed please speak up.

To avoid this, I am attempting to take thread posts and concerns that pertain to global interests and post them with Q&A at the bottom of the manual.

I'm excited about this manual, but it does takes some homework to keep it current... a price to pay for advancement.

We could make it easy and just not update YaV1 anymore... but that would be any fun would it! :)

I don't want the manual to be so complicated that people want to skip it and just ask a question instead..... the manual is packed with goodies... I encourage all to read it and keep a current version.

The 1st post of this thread will get an updated link to the current version with every YaV1 release.

WOW Windstrings this is awesome! I can't thank you enough. When I get back home to NY from Alaska I am going to be paying a lot more attention to my YaV1 thanks to you :)

Right now I'm using a CR90 in my rental car (as per usual)...

    Re: YaV1 Manual and guide

I searched around and maybe I'm missing it, is there an acknowledge mute function somewhere? As I'm driving down the road and a threat is noticed, I can acknowledge it in the past on my V1 by pressing the big button and the alerts were still present, but they were muted or quieter (depending on where I set the volume rocker behind the big button on my V1). I was driving and I had to mute a threat behind me that was a k band (by pressing the speaker button on the top right hand corner) and I forgot to unmute it and almost got clipped a few miles down the road. Close call! I am sure Frankey has thought of this feature, I'm just missing it! Great job on the manual as well!

    Re: YaV1 Manual and guide

The speaker is permanent mute, it's hard to do in other way somehow with all functionality. If you want a temporary mute, you can still do with knob ...
I have to work on this, I wish VR would amend a bit the ESP about this ...
