I've said it many times. Virginia is by far the worst that I've driven in for left lane hogs. If only someone would enforce the law here ! I have to pass people in the right lane at least twice a week, and that's not because I'm speeding or being an a$$. I try and give people the opportunity to move over. If they don't, sometimes I'll give them a little high beam flash. Not even that works sometimes so I just go around and glare on my way by.

Here in Michigan they do a decent job with it that I've seen. In the more rural areas I have seen State Troopers camp solely to find people for not abiding. It definitely irritated me this weekend when people kept going in the passing lane, its only two lanes, and not even advance ahead. Frustrates me to no end as I look back and see a line of cars behind me. Flashing your brights does nothing either except for one driver who sped up immediately then as he reached traffic he just paced them, they were in the right lane mind you. I wonder what vending machine some people get their licenses from.

I cant stand WI, even the trucks are LLH on 3+ lane highways. trucks have no business in any lane except the first 2, of course in IL they are not allowed in lanes 3 and 4 yet they travelmin them all the time and the cops dont care. I was on 355 and one trucked pulled into the left most lane (3lanes) with a state tropper 2 cars behind in the left lane and he did nothing.

WI has a keep right law too, but it is never enforced. :argh:

Like protias said, come to WI. I typically have to pass on the right at least twice a day because people just are either not paying attention or don't care. Many I will hang behind for a mile or two even with ample room to move over before going around them.

Then you have the people who I swear purposely move into the left lane just to be an ass. I'm talking the people doing 5 under or more, who move over, into your lane, just as you're coming up on them, then procede to take the next 2-3 miles to pass a single car that happens to be doing 4 under. I see that at least 2-3 times a week.

Granted, I drive about 600-700 miles a week minimum, but it's still absurd.

I drive 200-300 a week and see it several times a day, every single day. I don't have the patience to hang around and see if they move over.

There's a fairly limited number of messages that I usually want to pass to people behind me, so I think I could rig up a quick and dirty LED sign with buttons for common messages. Messages that I would probably have at my fingertips would be things like:

-- WRONG LANE ASSHOLE (not so polite version, best for truckers)
-- KEEP RIGHT EXCEPT TO PASS (polite version)

In fact, that's probably the only messages I'd need to use on a daily basis. What others would you use?

GA likes their revenue, they will pull you over for driving in the left lanes without passing and you do not see big trucks in the left lanes or they will definitely pull them over. Here is a video of a ride along with a GA state patrol on youtube. Also check out the spectre on the left side. They probably use the spectre to pick up your detector and then give you some I/O action:eek:, since it is not illegal in GA to run a detector, this is just guessing but, what else could they be using it for. GA state patrol never run constant on radar. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wPavN04F0Nk

It's rarely enforced in NJ, but LEO's will add it on as an extra ticket if your speeding and they dont like you.

It is one of the prime reasons I chose to get a motorcycle. Nothing will get in may way, not for very long anyway.

He should be pulling over the slower lead cars or trucks in the left lane... not the cars taking up the rear.

There is another place where I drove only in the left lane, even with no cars around (not hogging, but using the left lane only) and that is I-80 through Nevada. The road in some areas is paved with concrete, which is now fractured and broken due to the heavy semi trucks in the right lane - so much so your car takes a beating trying to go 90mph on that crap, so I stay on the left side. Same in the Sierra Nevada mountains where the truck's snow chains rip the road to pieces on the right lane.

And yet, having lived in a few states, and driven through many, Georgia is by far the worst for the LLH in my experience. Even worse than SC, and that's saying something.

You have no idea how badly I've wanted to do this, but decided it's probably best I not. Besides, they probably couldn't finish reading it before I was out of eyesight once past them...
