That would explain the complete lack of any sort of response. Although there's no mention of that in the Reddit post. The person who posted on Reddit, is the driver of the Telsa that recorded the video and that the idiot passed.Looks to me like he was drunk. And I don't mean just a little bit.
So I never saw the car until he speed past me. He tried to use the merge lane to pass on the right. After the accident I didn't go near his car and stayed with the guy who took the initial hit (he was shaken up). When the cops arrived I just told the cop(s) that I had a video when he needed it and was let go (the cops didn't want us to stay for fear of another accident). When the police called me I had this clip ready (I only noticed the White Model 3 getting hit when I pulled the video). Cop told me the Durango driver claimed he was swerving to avoid a speeding car behind him when the accident occurred and none of the other drivers knew what happened.
Maybe the crash snapped him out of his stupor and he popped a breath mint...lol
I agree completely. Connected to this is so many people have a poor sense of spatial awareness in their vehicles. These drivers stand out particularly when they're faced the option of navigating at slow speed between two other stopped vehicles and despite having three feet clear on both sides of their vehicle, they're terrified to proceed and just stay stopped until traffic moves. These are also the same people who in construction areas when faced with negotiating delineator posts, jersey barriers, etc., slow to a ridiculously slow speed, because again they're terrified and they have no sense of space. He hit the brakes and tried to maneuver between the other two lanes. He wasn’t drunk (probably), just incompetent. So many people are incapable of negotiating obstacles (traffic/cars) well, never think more than 20 feet in front of the bumper, and still drive fast. They’re the ones that give everyone else a bad name.
Unless they're like this jacakss and have no sense of space but without the fear lolthey're terrified and they have no sense of space.
I stand corrected then. Thank you Deacon.Unless they're like this jacakss and have no sense of space but without the fear lol
I don't see why people keep commenting that he never touched the brakes. He clearly did. Here are some snippets:
1) On the brakes as he was wrapping up the pass of the dashcarm car:

2) Stayed on the brakes until here:

He let off the brakes thinking he could squirt between the Escape and the Compass (I think that's what they are), but he didn't judge it well at all and gave the white Escape too much room on the left and hit the Compass on the right, at which time he braked again (a natural but useless response) as he was thrown against the Escape on the left anyway:

I didn't have the sound on, but I'm sure you could probably have a louder horn.
