This meet unfortunately did not run as well as I'd hope it did. Hopefully we can fix that for next time. We really need like 2-3 days straight to get everything I want to test.

I had grabbed the wrong box, so I didn't have my DSR2X and spinner dropped his ATR.

We are going to have to find a new spot for two reasons, the "party" neighbors called us in twice...they didn't know what we were doing and didn't even bother to come talk with us. I find this odd since I talked with them twice last year and they were cool with it. 1) A Racine County cop stopped by just after 4 and asked what we were doing. I told him testing radar guns and radar detectors. He had to problems with that and drove off. 2) We've maxed out the course for off axis (just over 1 mi long) for the higher end radar detectors.

Now compare yesterday's results with the previous tests we've done:

Thanks for going through all the paperwork protias. Guess that cop must have visited shortly after I had left.

Ya, it was like 5 minutes after you left. GTO, Cobalt, and myself were still gibber-gabbing when he rolled up.

Initial impressions:

- Holy crap the RedLine will not shut up about its supremacy ;-)
- How the times have changed. Now a stock V1 looks like a weak performer.
- The MAX didn't do too badly -- I would not be disappointed if it's somewhere between a stock V1 and a RL BS/RDR. The last time I tested the 9500ix, I would have honestly been happy with it if it even just matched a stock V1's performance.

I did find it interesting how much better the v1 with the rear antennae picked up the radar source vs the redline/sti-r+..........Basically the entire course length, where as my redline was more comparable to the cobra :p

EDIT, on the rear facing runs

One can not go wrong choosing between the Max, Redline, and V1c. In saying that MAXimum sensitivity belongs to the Redline

I would have been curious to see how the CR85 would have performed
GT had a cordless whistler somewhere I believe in there, but that was it.

Thanks to everyone participated and contributed!

Wonder why there is such a discrepancy with the V1 at 33.8 and 35.5 off axis?

As far as I am aware, 35.5 has always been a weakness of the v1.

The 35.5 gun was also the decatur(correct me if I am wrong protias) thats a pain to detect.

The straight on the course is a lil over a mile, the RL and the V1C and the Max to a certain extent are " exceeding" the length of the course. We need a 1.5 or even 2 mile course. Any say airport length.

for the next testing lets put together a schedule to stick to. I'm thinking if we know ahead of time who is going and what they will have we can assign a time slot to test each car for lidar/radar.

a nice secluded industrial park would work well. virtually no traffic and we could set up in a parking lot, maybe even use one of those portable tent/shade things to stay out of the sun.

Already looking into it. ;) I am also looking near that test area as there are a lot of farm fields and nearly no one to "bother."

Got one, EZ UP and another screened in one which might be needed given the conditions yesterday.
