Is that DET sighting in Fort Worth confirmed?

I frequent that area almost daily and haven't run into any LIDAR in Fort Worth at all. Certainly not DET.
A member(forgot who) saw it & confirmed it was a DragonEye "Compact" & was logged into RDFGS.

Here ya' go Tex...see for yourself from the Local DFW TV station. It's a bit dated from a few years ago, but it's likely still in use !

Right thru the windshield... Nice!

Where's that member that was stealing LEO equipment and trying to sell it here? I might have a job for him...:megashifty:

That extra chin helps him stabilize it a bit better.
lol -

DET Compact in the flesh. I wonder if he has ECCM activated? I'm guessing if he's lazy enough to shoot through the front windshield then probably not.

Of course it is...that's the way it boots-up automatically.
He would have to make extra effort to turn off ECCM...tough to do one-handed when his other hand is holding a donut ! :D

Really? I didn't know they boot up in ECCM mode? Well that's the first logical thing Scott Patterson's done with any of his products.

FYI NJ can use the dragoneye guns now. Careful driving out there.
Guess it's only a matter of time until the boroughs of NYC and Long Island get them.

Anyone know if Oregon uses DALA? I think it was marked on the RDFGS all those centuries ago when it was still up :p

For that matter, does OR use any VPR guns that anyone knows of?

I know I asked before but never got a reply so figure I might as well ask again, plus a new question.

Seeing how expensive the LRB's are in NYS, maybe someone would want to swap their DEC for an LRB ;)

I've been doing quite a bit of driving through Maryland and Delaware recently and that trend is going to be continuing for the forceable future, unfortunately.
I know Maryland has (or had) at least one DALA.

It was operated by the MTA LEOs exclusively on the ICC (Rt. 200). That was well over a year ago and I drive all around MD every day and it was my only encounter with one. I know it is unusual to have just one but maybe they were testing it or something. I read somewhere that the additional cost is not worth it, considering they can write 1000 tickets with a standard, cheaper LG, or 1001 tickets with a DALA unit.

Decatur was handing out DALA's and DET's as demo units for a few years all around the country. Texas had a few as well, but they were returned after their demo window closed. I understand there were two main problems with them. 1. Ability to fulfill a large order. 2. The sample rate was too low, DET's have 15 samples before a speed display where Stalker and Kustom gave you 50. 3. Performance data was more complete with Stalker and Kustom, so the PA's went with the big name guns as they would be easier to prosecute in court.

They are gazetted for Victoria, Australia. However last time I checked there weren't any Victorian members that could verify this on RDF.
