Guys I just saw a gentleman who had to be 90 years old and he decided to park next to me in a 1980’s Buick.
I really don’t think he had been out driving in a long time.
I glanced up on his front dash and low and behold he had an old Radar Detector in a Kleenex box disguise.
I’m still laughing because allot of people use to do that “back in the day”.
That little old man sure did make my day.

I did that once in the rear deck of a car I used to have years ago. But I decided that I wanted the detector mounted up front and high on the windshield so rear deck location didn't last long. I've seen cops put their hats over radar antennae in their cars. So, if they can do it, we can too. Kudos to the old guy.

    Cheers.

This thread is worthless without pictures.

I really wish I had taken a picture.

I think the man is a resident of a large retirement estate that is close by.

He probably is just stuck in time.

Even the Kleenex box looked 30 years old.

Here in banarea , some many people get caught with this trick ... + with the advent of the Rdd the game was over.

In free area , the trick is still good to avoid robbery of this precious tool.

I think the best way to hide your detector is hardwire it and put it behind the tint strip up top

This works both ways...last time I was at traffic Court a LEO had his rear windshield radar antenna hidden in a kleenex box, (w/ a hole cut "out" for the front of the horn)...& kleenex tissue was still sticking out of the top of the box !

My personal favorite is a V1 mounted in the passenger or center rear head rest, with a remote head. This guy gets extra points for how little effort for such an effective result though.

Besides the cut-out-box, I wonder what was under the tissue. Was it a fuzzbuster II or something like that? LOL.....Some folks still drive aound in the South with the X/K detectors, stuck in time....
