Nice... what are you driving now that a GLI would want to "race" you?

Also the beltway cop is back shooting lidar, 45 and the south belt heading east. The link below is to a google map w/ the pinpoint.

I've seen them posted up there before. They also like shooting lidar right before Telephone Rd.

Instead of everyone making map locations why don't we just keep one map with everything on it. I have a public speed trap map that everyone can edit. I've only posted this on RDF so feel free to add locations. Maybe we can get the OP or an admin to add this to the first post.

Great idea. I like how you can add a description of each trap as well. I'll add it to the first post.

Cool this is a great thread I would love to see us end up with a complete map. Then we can go hunting for LEOs. LOL.

Southwest Houston cracked down hard on speeders today. Five encounters today, a new personal record. Out of those, three saves.

Encounter #1:

Left a little earlier for work today to see if the fat moto LEO is an early riser and sure enough, he was out there at a new location on 59 close to Highway 6. But, he left his radar (D'oh!) so I had enough time to slow down before I ran into his lidar speed trap.

Encounter #2:

Eye save against a rolling state trooper on highway 90 near Murphy Rd. Going 70 in a 55, I was able to spot him a 1/4 mile away before he blasted me with I/O.

Encounter #3:

Stafford PD running rolling C/O K on Murphy Rd.

Encounter #4:

Also on highway 90 near 99. Sugar Land LEO was hiding behind a hill. No advanced warning so I'm glad I wasn't speeding. I/O Ka 34.7.

Encounter #5:

Final save of the day but the closest one by far. Going 20+ over PSL on highway 90, a silver 09 F-150 ecoboost truck passes me up and I start backing off to give him some space as my rabbit. I'm hardly three car lengths back and the V1 goes full Ka. I brake for my life and see a state trooper emerge from being well concealed behind a mini-van on the other side of the highway and dive into the median. He accelerates and pulls the F-150 over and I barely escape with a rabbit save.

I added 3 on the SE side of town.

Why do all of your locals have writing on the sides of the cars? Up here in DFW you will never see a ghost car, they are completely unmarked.
We have 4 of these that I know of in Allen now:

As well as 3 of these:
IIRC, unmarked cars are illegal for primary traffic use.

Had an instant-on Ka band encounter with what appeared to be a precinct 4 constable on Louetta Rd just west of 249. He was sitting in a u-turn just west of the Vintage Park plaza, great spot right past some shrubs and crap. I was pulling out of Vintage Park at about 11pm and he was being VERY selective with his I/O. I didn't get any hits from my V1 as I drove through the Vintage Park parking lot and I was definitely in range. Otherwise he must have just pulled up and setup shop. Either way he hit me full blast with Ka, but I was under his threshold at around ~5 over.

EDIT: Just remembered another one a few days ago, also a precinct 4 constable in the same area. Same story, very selective Ka I/O. He was on Jones Rd, just south of Louetta Rd near the Hewlett Packard campus in a u-turn. Also below his threshold.

Noob from Houston here.

I live in midtown, and lately HPD has been shooting along Fannin right outside of 45. Usually about 5pm, collecting customers from the after work crowd on their way home.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the stretch of Cypresswood in NW Houston that runs between Louetta and Grant. Speed trap haven. I passed 3 in the past two weeks.

I usually don't go that far west on Cypresswood but it's still good to know if I'm ever out that way. Let me guess, Pct. 4 Constable??

I spotted today on my way home from work, on the South half of Hardy Toll Road, Pct. 1 constable was in a new Ford Explorer and on the North half of the Hardy Toll Road, Pct. 4 constable was in a new Ford Taurus. They are most certainly harder to spot since they blend in better with the rest of the vehicles on the road. What clued me in on the Ford Explorer was that he was on the side of the road. The Taurus was on the side with his lights on with a customer.

southside place/west u cops loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee to camp out there blocking themselves with the city sign in the median at night, sometimes during the day. They will either sit on the grass next to the sign or in one of the turning portions of the median. always KA band, there is also often a trap if you drive further up around st lukes emergency room on bellaire. Then Bissonet (near Newcastle) on the West U side of the rail road tracks they will sit either at the intersection off bissonnet or park in peoples driveways on bissonnet.
Westpark bridge on the Weslayan Side occasionally there is a speed trap set up by HPD getting people going downhill from the bridge coming from the side with newcastle.

These are around the corner from my moms place so I know these spots pretty well.

Just the other day I ran into a Harris County Pct. 4 Constable running a Stalker (RL showed 34.7) on the North end of the Hardy Toll Road. I have never seen a Pct. 4 Constable running anything but 35.5 or K band. I'm wondering if they recently acquired some new equipment. I will have to try and get some research done to see if they have purchased a bunch of new RADAR's and maybe even LIDAR's.

State Trooper shooting LIDAR, eastbound on I-10 near the Westgreen exit. Positioned on the left side of the interstate at the bottom of a hill.
