PA 3736- Reckless driving $277 PA 3361- Too fast for conditions $102 (8 AM on a clear Sunday morning with 4 open lanes....?) PA 3361- Speeding $225 (81 in a 55 is what is printed on ticket) The last ticket I got in PA went unpaid for 4+ years before they freaked out... this go-round they...

Non argumentative question: Are CBs necessary with today's technology?

They're probably as bad as the old "cell boosters" people got that attached in the same way. CB communication is 10% radio, 90% antenna. A legal, un-amplified radio can talk for miles without skip if it's hooked up to an antenna that's as close to perfect as can get. The old base antenna we...

    Virginia still use detector detectors?

Yes, on SR-32 heading for Cincinnati. It wasn't very expensive, but still shocking. If this kind of thing catches on, we're all in trouble. 1553780850 You would think with all the money I've given them over the last decade they'd be rolling in it!

Non argumentative question: Are CBs necessary with today's technology?

The Little Wil and the K30 are both great options. Magnet mounts, small, and easy to install. The most important thing to getting the best performance out of one of these small antennas is making sure your standing wave ratio is as perfect as you can get it.

    Virginia still use detector detectors?

Ah, I didn't realize there was a difference between PCAS and TCAS.. interesting. I knew somewhere out there someone used something to detect aircraft as a countermeasure, but it's really been a long time since I've seen it. As far as VA and airplanes is concerned -- yes, they have indeed...

    Virginia still use detector detectors?

Wythe County Sheriff's Department Virginia State Police These are the only two that I personally can confirm use them... But yes... the Radar Detector Detectors are very much alive and still in operation! ALSO: Do not ignore the "Speed Limit Enforced by Aircraft" signs. They still do that...

My 1st Week With The V1....Umm...

85% of my actual LEO encounters are via K band. Because of this, I'm one of the very unlucky ones on this forum. The V1's "situational awareness" is the only reason I run the stinkin' thing. It's annoying these days with all the door openers and Mazdas around me, even paired with apps --- but...

    Pittsburgh Area Attorneys ?

I'm really not sure. I would imagine that given the severity of the speed and the circumstances that led to the stop, yes -- probably a misdemeanor. & yes -- given that I really do not know exactly what "violations" I've been formally accused of committing coupled with the fact that I can't get...

I didn't sign anything... which is definitely not what I am used to. Concise explanation of events -- the officer took my ID, wrote the number down and told me my citation would be in the mail. It was required for many years in West Virginia that you either signed the ticket, or be arrested...

    Pittsburgh Area Attorneys ?

I just got off driving "probation" about a month ago. Any tickets I got during the probation period would fully re-instate my original violation at the maximum fine level, and tack on whatever ticket I got during the probation period. You can bet your hind-quarters I was driving like my...

Non argumentative question: Are CBs necessary with today's technology?

There is still a lot of CB use in rural areas where I am, as not having cell service (yes, in 2019) is still a common occurrence. I have switched all my gear to magnetic mount antennas, or trunk lip antennas where the antenna can actually be removed from the base.. I mainly use my CB when on...

    Pittsburgh Area Attorneys ?

Hey guys, Got popped doing 87 in a 55 in a "designated safety corridor" by a very enthusiastic State Trooper just south of Pittsburgh. The officer did not provide me with a citation on the side of the road, instead he let me know I'd "get my s**t in the mail." What does such an offense...

I appreciate that! It’s too bad so many people here believe the roadways are their personal trash cans... Highest per-mile amount of littered Bud Light and Mt. Dew bottles in the US isn’t something to be proud of...

Ohio and VA have dedicated highway patrols, which makes them hell to drive in.. (especially the communistwealth of Virginia) Here in WV, we do not. Highway safety is really incorporated into WV State Police duties. That being said, enforcement is still pretty rare. It’s starting to pick up on...

Exactly. As soon as I heard the double “braap” the nose of that Impala almost kissed the asphalt. A ticket for 100+ around here runs ~$1,000, not including the possibility of getting liscence suspended/insurance costs.. Not going to lie, I had an adrenaline rush when I had realized that I just...

Officer’s discretion here... I would imagine he probably got cuffed. The particular stretch of 79 that we were on is notorious for “speed-related” accidents.. apparent reason for the 65 MPH limit

I’m heading down the freeway... I’m doing 80-85 for most of my 70 mile journey when all of a sudden I see a white Fiat in my rear view coming up on my tail.. QUICK. I let him pass, but couldn’t help notice the Cobra in his windshield... as he goes by, he nods his head at me, and gasses it again...

    V1 - BSM filtering better w/ 3.8952?

My 3.8952 seems "slower" on K-band than my 3.894, but I'm subjectively speaking... Regardless, they both alert to BSM's from GM's, Acuras, etc. just the same... No discernible difference, if you ask me.
