New Firmware for New Zealand users - Uniden R7 - Beta testing

Excellent job!, that sounds like a lot of work has been done. If it happens again I'll record the status for you. One thing that I thought might be a good feature is a flashing warning for speedcams and RL cams via the data out for the hardwire cable for those of us that rely on the hardwire...

New Firmware for New Zealand users - Uniden R7 - Beta testing

had a slightly unusual experience recently, the r7 for no reason suddenly seemed to detect every K band source out there so I had to go through the menu and reset it- seems ok and alerted a parked van, but still odd.

Looking for bluetooth transmitter compatible with sena multipoint

its all to do with the various bt protocols that I have forgotten! You need a bt transmitter with HFC protocol to send to your sena. Check the sena manuals, its all there. When I tried to ebay/aliexpress the right transmitter I could not find one with the right protocol or if it did claim it...

Dodgy van K band detection and frequencies in NZ - Observations and developments

I should be a bit more of a note taker but Ive had multiple van hits on the R7 recently 2-4 hundred metres out, if you were really gong for it on an open road you would probably be toast but perfect for avoiding around town tax collection. If i didnt already mention it, I had the pleasure of...

So those who had an R3 and now an R7, what's you opinion on size/weight difference?

Here's the Mithheru NZ spec R7 in action, the LEO is about 500m behind me around a long curve, he is stopped giving some poor driver a ticket I'm stopped and sitting on the bike. Perfect rear horn detection, in fact I am constantly amazed at how good the R7 is detecting Ka pings from miles away...

So those who had an R3 and now an R7, what's you opinion on size/weight difference?

I only use the r7 on the bike and find the rear horn works really well. I usually do long rides so have no need to remove it but when I have its not a problem. Put it this way, if you want the best protection you have to accept the minimal inconvenience of it being a tiny bit bigger

So those who had an R3 and now an R7, what's you opinion on size/weight difference?

After having both, the R7 is better in everyway. Size is a non event, you just get used to it.

Dodgy van K band detection and frequencies in NZ - Observations and developments

I was going up Onewa Rd in Auckland last weekend and the R7 detected a van on 26.042 or 24.062- (one or the other since I didnt write it down!) but it gave me a lot of warning, ramped up and the arrows pointed the right way going past. Mercedes van dark blue.

Western Australia [Edit : RD's now illegal from 12 Oct 2020] - Section 111 - Possible RD ban via overly broad stealth legislation

The only reason to ban CM is revenue, you have to realise that WA is vast and empty once you get out of town. There is NOTHING out there except, rocks, sand and wombats. You could drive at 200mph for hours on some roads until you just got bored with it and not see anything except more rocks and...
