Any V1 users jumping to the recently announced R7?

One thing I do really like about the V1 is it is built in the US and it is a work horse. Never had a issue with mine.

Curious why you guys say it is a cheap built detector?

[Patent] Image Analysis and Radar Detectors

True but if I'm buying a new detector I want it to pick up MRCD for when they decide to not have it fixed.

[Patent] Image Analysis and Radar Detectors

I agree if you live in a area that doesn't have MRCD the v1 is the detector to get. I know the R3 has better range but never had a issue with the range on the V1 either.

[Patent] Image Analysis and Radar Detectors

This is exactly it. People often get lost in what isn't important. The whole purpose of any of these is to keep yourself from getting tickets...

    R7 Testing

I was going to say Vortex said it had different suction cups also.

    R7 Testing

Honestly I bet it still sells great the V1 has a great reputation. On top of that it is the most affordable detector with arrows. If you live in a area that doesn't have MRCD it is still a great choice,

    R7 Testing

I hope not, I'm hoping they step up their game. More competition is a good thing. Have to think they have a update coming soon since it has been 2 years since the last update...

Any V1 users jumping to the recently announced R7?

Valentine has had some interesting Patents and I expect big thing are coming from Radenso as well. Hoping for something as well I can't say it enough the V1 saved my ass many times and is super reliable.

Any V1 users jumping to the recently announced R7?

Absolutely, all companies have to update hardware at some point. When the V1 came out there was no need for BSM filtering because there was no BSM. My point is either way you are going to pay. All these companies have bills to pay. I'm also a huge V1 fan. I have said it many times I would go...

Any V1 users jumping to the recently announced R7?

First off I'm a huge fan of the V1 have had mine for years and it has been amazing. I have said many times I would upgrade it over a R7 if it did everything that I need... I like that the V1 is designed and built in the USA for one. Valentine really needs to update it to have useful MRCD...

Spectre Testing on the Uniden R7

I have had arrows with My V1 for 15+ years and I can't tell you how many times it saved my ass. Mike Valentine was way ahead of the game with the bogie counter and arrows. No other windshield mounted detector detects MRCD and has arrows so for some like me yes it is worth $600.

Any V1 users jumping to the recently announced R7?

Of course they do so does Valentine though. If I want to upgrade my V1 it is $300 plus shipping. Not complaining it is a awesome detector but these companies have to make money. Escort even makes Radar guns tell me they don't have incentive there...

    Pro M or Wait

Like what @MikePA said above though I question the value of a open API to a RD Vendor. I think most RD users want to slap it in the window and do as little as possible and have it detect radar /laser and have as few false alerts as possible (something I honestly think Radenso does really well)...

I think API support is huge with this forum but I wonder how important it is to the average user that just wants to throw the detector up and have it work. Kind of like the frequency display I care about it because I'm into this stuff your average user wants to know leo ahead or behind that is...
