It will work but is not as effective in off axis situations. The beam spread is much wider in the horizontal position.

Put your money on the 905 as we move forward.
Vertical or horizontal Blinders software has your defense covered.

Not sure what software BD is referring to here since to my knowledge the 'software' will not cause the diode IR output change its orientation on the fly. Correct me if I'm wrong?

To have good off-axis protection the IR output from the firing diodes has to be wider...not taller. Don't get me wrong, vertical will work in most situations on-axis, but it's not ideal. Off-axis is more of a an issue as performance decreases significantly due to the angle of attack (worse as you approach shooter) and the resulting limitation of the taller diode output.

Also note if the sensors are installed relatively far from headlamps ( more inward to center of vehicle) vertical installs adds to the above issues.

Install your blinders as there were designed to work. If you can't then you are now aware of the limitations.

I hope whatever product is sourced or designed in house the 905 owners will not be left out in the cold as the m27/47 owners were.

When? I sold my 905s long ago when I realized there were no updates coming.

Could you please comment more on any upcoming software updates as well as the ability to mount leads in either direction.

When what you have works, why update? Yes Blinder is working to make our software better.
When the next update is 100% ready it will be available. Working on a few different things.
Others may update every other week only to fix the bug that was created with their last update.
The mounting can go either way.
Testing horizontal is better side to side. Vertical better top to bottom.
Either way with the Blinder HP 905 your not getting a ticket.

I have to point out that in the LI vs 905 vs DALA vs. Truspeed S test done by ECCTG, the LI beat the 905 on, for example, the Truspeed S. Yet LI just released an update to improve its performance even more against Truspeed S. If you had just left it at "When what you have works, why update?" I would let that slide. But the "Others" you speak of are actually performing pretty darn well, and making timely updates.
